We all know that YouTube has good videos and bad videos, and more often than not districts block access to YouTube because of the bad. Wouldn't it be nice if we could grab the good videos from home and bring them in to school to use?
Give Zamzar the URL for a YouTube video (or any video from similar websites), choose a file format to convert the video to, provide an email address and viola! Zamzar converts the YouTube video into the format you specified and emails you when their done. Click the link in the email to access and download the video. And it's all FREE.
NOTE: I've also used Zamzar to converted .mpg and Quicktime videos into Flash files so that I can embed the videos into SMART Notebook pages.
I am using it as well. I have synced my delicious account to it and it post my bookmarks to my blog each day as well. It's a great tool. Like Alice, I'm not diigging deep yet - but getting there.
Bob, I have been registered for Diigo for a year, but just let the account sit there. Cathy Evanoff from Making Connections , a great show where Cathy explains one new web 2.0 tool to the audience, over at EdTechTalk has 2 great interviews with Maggie from Diigo.
First show from August 2007
And the second interview from Maggie in Feb. 2008, just before the big boom!
You will love Cathy's easy manner and informative way of explaining new tools. Enjoy!

Hi, Alice. Like you, I find the gifts feature much too silly and Facebook-like. You can easily remove it by clicking the "remove the gifts feature" link from the Gifts icon on your Manage page. Cheers.
Would love to shed a little light on this, Bob, Alice, Sheri and Wes.
