I read because of a number of reasons. One is for enjoyment...I love to read a good murder/mystery book. Reading fiction books is like going to the movies for me. I can picture the story in my mind and block out what is going on around me. Sometimes it is nice to be able to "escape" for a few minutes. I also have to read for learning. I am a teacher of reading and technology. There are many times I have to read directions and manuals. As I tell my students, just get use to reading because you have to do it everyday.

I read for enjoyment and for escape. I also read to learn. When I read for enjoyment and escape, it is usually Best sellers. My favorite author is Robin Cook, he write medical mysteries. But right now I am reading Dan Browns new book called the Lost Symbol. I am also reading for my learning, currently that I Sir Ken Robinson, The Element.

Great Project Mr. Kimmi. I will share this with my classes this week. Hopefully, some of them will also respond and help with your research project.

I had one student reply on the VoiceThread today. As others finish testing tomorrow, I will have them comment as well.

That's great, hearing from other students, no matter what level is very helpful!

I read for many reasons. I learn new things, I feel like I get to live different lives through the characters in the books, and I imagine new places. Reading helps me relax and to "run away" from life when I feel overwhelmed.

I write to help me learn about myself, to think about who I am and what I'm doing. Sometimes I write to express how I feel about someone or something that is in my life. Sometimes I write to get my feelings out when I'm not sure how to say them aloud or when they feel too private to share with anyone else.

I Steve. I left a written comment on your Voice Thread since I don't have my microphone/headset handy.
I hope you can resurrect this voice thread. Are you teaching this fall?

I decided not to apply this time, but next time I am going to plan to get my video done early enough to be viewed, critiqued and edited. Last time people saw some things that now I realize I should have edited, but I just didn't have time. Janice

WOW! I love how you used your kids in the movie. The only thing I can suggest about the sound (I think you can do this in iMovie '08) is in the sound bar at the bottom, you can adjust the volume with a little line. If you drag the line up, it will...
