Great show. I'm looking forward to the archived chat so I can follow the links. Since we've rolled out Google Apps for School at our middle school, perhaps I can even add to the discussion.

Hi Carolyn. Welcome to Seedlings and the conversation. New Sweden where I live and teach is a nice community in northern Maine that has maintained its roots. It was settled in 1870 by 51 Swedes. In addition to Midsommar (thanks by the way for your comments on my movie) we celebrate St. Lucia on Dec 13th. It is a beautiful celebration with my 8th grade class taking the parts of Lucia, her attendants, and the Star Boys. We do it both at school and then in the evening for the community.

Hi Carolyn,

With your work in Technology Integration, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service. Here’s a public class recording you might find of interest.

Almost the end of July - summer is flying by

I have been on this computer since early this morning, and I am finding it hard to tear myself away from the learning.
I got really excited by the blog from Cheryl Oakes which showed up in my iGoogle from Tech&Learning and spent a bunch of time following her and Alice Barr's coverage of the tech expo at Sebaticook Valley Middle School. What wonderful projects and such inspiration for other teachers and schools.
Somehow, I ended up back on this NING and then got caught up following a link fro… Continue

Happy 4th of July everyone

It's been a while since I logged into this Seedlings Ning. It was busy at the end of the school year. We got out on June 24, and it's been a technology whirl ever since. What with buying a brand new iPhoneG3s,learning how to use it, tuning in virtually to NECC, and participating in the chats on various EdTechTalk shows as well as speaking on TeachersTeachingTeachers on July 1, I haven't had time to pursue my goal to set up a ning for my school. So, here I am, back on the Seedlins NING, hoping to… Continue

All the Wonderful Sharing and Learning

I have been reading blogs and on-line educational newsletters such as Tech&Learning and eSchoolNews for years. Occasionally, I have left a comment. It is only recently that I've become an active participant in these on-line collaborative groups. I have finally figured out Twitter, and I'm following some pretty fabulous people. I have also been participating in different open webcasting events at EdTechTalk starting, of course, with Seedlings and branching out to EdTechBrainstorm and WOW. Wha… Continue

I've just become a new member of Seedlings. Where will this lead?

I am a middle school educator from Bethany, CT. I am a life-long learner who learns from other teachers in the blogosphere as well as from my students.
I had the distinct honor of meeting Bob Sprankle, the founder of this ning, this morning at his school in Wells, Maine.

I am always looking for ways to increase our integration of technology into the curriculum at our school, and I've learned so much from reading blogs from other educators such a Bob Sprankle and Cheryl Oakes. Just recently, I'v… Continue
