Janice, I agree with you on intrinsic motivation and constructivism. For years, no matter what the lesson, I always like to end with a challenge to my students. The challenge being, now create your own word problem, your own rule for this project,...

Hi Cheryl,

I've not attended the conference. Other job duties have kept me in district. I'd love to attend at some point. Thanks for the welcome!

Yes... as I tell my students I am the older smarter much better looking brother. We are now in same district.

Camp is very interesting to teach especially with kids from around the world (funny since they only know 2 English words which makes it difficult to teach them and the words are usually swear ones)

We Believe in You and We Will Help!

I had the opportunity last week to attend Tufts Dental School Parent Orientation. Interesting, our son is 24 and going to Dental School and we were invited to an orientation. Which profession do you think has changed the most… Continue

Meet a 21st Century Learner, a prosumer, a student!

For the past couple of months I have worked with 100 eighth graders as they navigate their way through a private Ning, a social network, we created for their language arts classes. We followed the protocol of creating gmail accounts for the students based on a special gmail account. The end result is that the students do NOT use that email to receive any communication. The communication from teachers and students takes place on the Ning. (This in effect is due to the CIPA regulations for student… Continue

Accept a Challenge Try Something New With Your Network

Well, the big happening in the virtual online network of Personal Learning Networks just finished up the last official event on November 1, 2008. I had not planned ahead to take part in the When N… Continue
