Diane, Thanks for your kind words and endorsement. That is what Seedlings is all about, by teachers for teachers. It is great to get this feedback, you are what keeps us going. We do recognize that we in Maine are very fortunate, and thus we like to share the ways that educators can integrate technology into their content areas. Please come back and enjoy all that will happen next week when the k12onlineconference begins!!
Welcome to SEEDlings! We're so happy to have you join the group!

I'm a classroom teacher in the Edmonds WA district (just north of Seattle). I teach Highly Capable 4th and 5th grades but have run the gamut from 3-7th grade in my career, all levels of learning. I have been using computers, mostly Macs, since the early 80s, was listening to podcasts before iTunes caught on (thanks to the World Is Flat), and am a tech peer coach in my district. I wish there were positions of tech integrator or the like in our state (there aren't much....) because I'd be right there applying for it. It's what I love most.
I've listened to Bit by Bit for years and Seedlings since its inceptions and admire the state of Maine for its way-aheadness. For all the tech reputation of Washington state, we are seriously pale next to you.
My class has done podcasts (I think we were the first in our district) and I try to embed technology naturally. (We have a small mobile laptop cart in our classroom, cameras, etc.)
Thanks to all 3 of you for being a great inspiration and sharing good stuff. I've used many and have passed them on to others.
Fresh from GTADC Richard Byrne will join us this week. Richard blogs at Free Technology for Teachers Please join us at 7:30 PM EST at http://edtechtalk.com/live
Hi, Alice. Like you, I find the gifts feature much too silly and Facebook-like. You can easily remove it by clicking the "remove the gifts feature" link from the Gifts icon on your Manage page. Cheers.
Would love to shed a little light on this, Bob, Alice, Sheri and Wes.
