I am also looking forward for Seedlings to come back... I will try to make it, but it is a bit difficult with the time differences - oh well, I will try :-)

Sven, I don't use feeds per se with my students as they're in elementary. But I think feeds are essential for Middle and High School students (and college!). A teacher could have students collect each others' Blog feeds to interact with each others…

Feeds are really powerful. I think they are very difficult to explain to someone else. I don't think I use mine too well. Feedburner is for creating a feed rather than collecting other feeds. At my school we have a podcast which we create a feed fro…

I was surfing the internet, and I found this greatest of all greatest resources: a virtual placeholder of all types of Web2.0 tools! This is definately worth to visit :-) Here is the link: http://www.go2web20.net/#tag:e-learning Have fun :-)

Hi Sue, I think you inadvertently addressed a great topic: a place to share great links ... Maybe we could rename the title of this post to "Great links to Great Sites" ... :-) Anyways, I have another great site, which addresses things like Internet…

Hi Rebecca, I too think that if classics are "required," that they should somehow be connected with what is relevant to today's children and youth. This can, as Terry already outlined, be accomplished by making use of various technologies. For examp…

Hello everyone, my question/or discussion revolves around the terminology of the use of RSS Feeds. In my opinion, feeds are designed to literally eliminate us looking for certain types of information. Instead, feeds enable information to come to us.…

This is indeed a great movie... For those who are interested in an explanation how this video came about, you can watch an explanation of Michael Wesch at this address: It is a long video, and all of the information is great, but if you are just in…

Hi Ryan, I think it is a very interesting question, to which I gave much thought about. But before I elaborate, I would like to share a true story: Almost in every school, cell phones, IPods, etc. are banned, citing that they distract, and that they…

Hi Sven,

With your strong interest in Technology, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service.

Here’s a Public Class on Technology Integration you might be interested in.

Tell us about yourself!
I am currently a substitute teacher with the Kamloops School District. As I am requested to the various classes, I try to implement as much technology as I possibly can. So far I have implemented blogs with a grade 3 and a grade 5 class, and am about to attempt my first podcast ... I am really excited about this :-)
In my spare time, I like to go for walks, play badminton (hehe, if time allows), and like to explore new and exiting Web2.0 tools... Oh, I also maintain my website (haha, at least try to). Well, check it out if you want: http:/www.svenbraune.ca
Cheers from Canada :-)

My first podcast ...

I am super excited to have just completed my first podcast with a grade three class. Ok, I should also mention that the students were super excited as well. I have posted and uploaded it on my classroom blog on my webserver. I have found that this serves as a great platform for children to find the podcast.

Greetings from Canada,
Sven
