Seedlings

Social Network for "Seedlings at Bit by Bit"

Designed to get elementary level students interested in an after school program, this short video looks at the basic steps to making your own movie. Start off with a plan (or storyboard), then have a script with actors and props picked out. Remember that the audience will only see what the camera sees. NOTE: This movie does not cover the steps after filming has concluded, namely downloading, editing, and rendering the final product. We ended up doing a lot of this for the students.

Cheryl,

When Eric and I put together this video, we geared it toward an elementary level audience. However, I have used it with middle school students as part of an introduction to iMovie projects using their MLTI laptops (see more resources for middle level students at http://sites.google.com/site/mskcomlit/msk-oscars). With respect to cameras, we have a bank of Sony HandyCams (DCR-HC36) that were purchased with help from the Kennebunk Education Foundation.

This is a great promo for things to come. What grade level will you use this with? What kind of cameras will you use? I love MSAD 71 TV!

Hi, Alice. Like you, I find the gifts feature much too silly and Facebook-like. You can easily remove it by clicking the "remove the gifts feature" link from the Gifts icon on your Manage page. Cheers.
