I think it is really has a powerful message to it: we need to change, and we need to learn to tickle the means that are available to us to reach all students' potential to succeed. Yes, this may be easier said than done, and there are probably many ways how to do this, but as the video pointed out, technology really allows this to happen. I mean I have seen, witnessed and experienced the excitement of students using and creating projects with technologies that they were able to share with families and friends who were not necessarily in the same town. And their motivation and dedication while doing so was so tremendous, that the outcome of these projects were not just successful, but were really brilliant. Why? Everything from quality of the actual project through to student self-confidence literally went through the roof ...
So, yes we do need to learn how to further the technologies within our classroom, and we do need to support those teachers, principals, school boards or decision makers who are cautions to either using/implementing these ... Technology is not going away, and it is our job to prepare students for when they graduate. There are so many tools (ie. Web2.0 tools) that are absolutely free, and virtually waiting to be used that can spice and transform the linear, old classroom into a classroom filled with excitement, motivation and animation. Such classroom then also addresses the various levels of Blooms' taxonomy which do enhance students' knowledge, but more important, that enhance the students' ability to think.
So yes, we all have to learn....

Hi, Alice. Like you, I find the gifts feature much too silly and Facebook-like. You can easily remove it by clicking the "remove the gifts feature" link from the Gifts icon on your Manage page. Cheers.
Would love to shed a little light on this, Bob, Alice, Sheri and Wes.
